15 Years with WRX Car Club

For over a decade and a half, my life has been intertwined with the WRX Car Club of NSW, a vibrant community centered around a shared passion for Subaru's iconic rally-inspired cars. What began as a casual interest in high-performance vehicles evolved into a deeply enriching journey that has left an indelible mark on me and my family.

I still remember the first time I attended a club event, a curious enthusiast drawn by the allure of the roaring engines and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. It was a world unlike any other, where speed and adrenaline converged with a sense of belonging and community. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of an extraordinary adventure.

As I became more involved in the club, attending meets, track days, and motorkhanas, my fascination with motor racing deepened. I was captivated not just by the thrill of speed, but also by the technical aspects of Subarus and the strategic nuances of competitive racing. Each event was a learning experience, an opportunity to immerse myself in the world of motorsports and forge lasting friendships with like-minded individuals.

Over time, my role within the club evolved. From a curious onlooker, I gradually became an active participant, contributing ideas, organizing events, and fostering a sense of community among members. I was honored to be elected as the club's president in 2024, a role that I embraced with enthusiasm and commitment.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey with the WRX Car Club of NSW has been witnessing the transformative effect it has had on my family. As my weekends became intertwined with the club events as my kids came along they grew up spending days on end at tracks and events. Not surprisingly they also got hooked to the world of racing and are all actively involved in racing now.

It was a proud moment for me as all my kids have become actively involved in the sport. They participated in club events, honed their driving skills, and eventually became competitive racers in their own right. Seeing them excel on the track, supported by the same community that had welcomed me years ago, filled me with immense pride and joy.

The WRX Car Club of NSW is more than just a club; it's a community that has become an integral part of my life. It has provided me with unforgettable experiences, lifelong friendships, and a sense of belonging that transcends mere membership.

This year Octane Software Solutions is proud sponsor of the clubs annual driver training in Long weekend. This is when we take young and experienced drivers and teach them the basics of track driving and safety aspects. This is traditionally a very popular event with both new and existing racers.

I am grateful for the memories, the lessons learned, and the bonds forged. It has been a privilege to be a part of this remarkable community, and I look forward to many more years of shared passion and camaraderie.
