  • TM1 / Planning Analytics is a robust tool.
  • Typically with other software vendors you need to rely on 3rd Party applications to test. This is not the case with TM1 depending on the type of testing you need done.
  • There are 3 major factors that need to be taken into consideration to define whether you are doing adequate software testing time, cost, and quality.
  • Time and cost is easy to measure but the hardest thing to measure is quality. Especially with manual testing or human testing.
  • In executing the same steps over and over we tend to find short cuts for not doing things the right or long way.
  • There is also an associated cost with manual testing, we are not saying we will or should completely remove the humans but analyse the following below graph

  • In short with the right forethought you can certainly place your project in a position where
You can minimise the costs of manually testing components especially if you need to re test because of changes.
  • The problem is that testing isn’t really thought about until the end of development hence the need to highlight this.
  • Our aim in these blogs is to get you thinking about these things as it creates an opportunity for you to choose whether or not this is for you.
  • What we have observed is that there are customers who have embarked on this journey once before and never look back. Each with their own reasons however none more prevalent than the deep and heavy delays that testing can have on the delivery of your system/ project or enhancement.
  • You can take solace in knowing that this isn’t hard to do, what needs to change is your perspective… start with the end in mind.
